PENYULUHAN: PRENATAL MASSAGE UNTUK MEMBANTU MEREDAKAN NYERI PUNGGUNG PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER II-III DI PMB FAULIEN, SST, Bd.
Sari
Low back pain is a common complaint during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, due to postural changes and increased body load. This community service activity aimed to provide education on safe and simple prenatal massage based on an educational leaflet for pregnant women at PMB Faulien, SST,Bd. The activity involved 15 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters and included health education, a demonstration of side-lying positioning, practice of gentle stroking and circular movements, discussion, and evaluation of participants’ understanding and satisfaction. The evaluation showed that 13 participants (86.7%) reported being satisfied and understood the material, while 2 participants (13.3%) still required repeated explanations and practical assistance, particularly regarding the sequence of movements, direction of stroking, and hand pressure. These findings indicate that leaflets and demonstrations can be used as educational media for prenatal massage; however, repeated practice and individual guidance are still needed. Prenatal massage is a complementary approach and does not replace antenatal care or consultation with a healthcare professional.
