PENGARUH EDUKASI LEAFLET TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN PENGGUNAAN OBAT PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2
Sari
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease requiring long-term therapy and understanding of medication use. At Aulia Hospital Pekanbaru, high patient volume and limited consultation time create a need for practical educational media. This study aimed to determine changes in patients’ knowledge of antidiabetic medication use after leaflet-based education. A quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest study involved 88 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Knowledge was measured using a 10-item questionnaire before and after intervention and analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The mean score increased from 48.75 to 95.45, and all respondents reached the good-knowledge category. The test showed a significant difference (Z = −8.187; p < 0.001). Without a control group, the improvement cannot be attributed exclusively to the leaflet.
