Emotional Exhaustion is one of burnout dimensions and predictor of Organization Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Human resources management scholars have been paying their attention to this subject. However, they tend to ignore EE’s phenomena in hospital. Therefore, this study investigate the factor affedcting the emotional exhaustion among medical staff at a growing hospital in Padang city. Different from previous studies, this study survey woman medical staff working in that hospital. The hyphoteses are developed by using the COR theory and previous studies findings and this study come out with three hyphoteses. First, the relationship between perceived workload and emotional exhaustion. Second, work-family conflict and emotional exhaustion. Finally, the role of work-family conflict as mediator between perceived workload and emotional exhaustion. By using 83 medical staffs (woman), we using the simple, multiple and sobel test. The result show that emotional exhaustion level among medical staff is very low. In addition, work-family conflict level also shows very low level. From regression analysis, we conclude that perceived workload has a positive relationship with the emotional exhaustion. Further, the work-family conflict also indicate a positive direction toward an emotional exhaustion. Indeed, the work-family conflict also play a significant role as moderating variabel between perceived workload and emotional exhaustion. This finding has a theoritical and practical contribution in the sense that the phenomena of emotional exhaustion among woman medical staffs in hospital could also be explained by COR theory. Practically, the hospital can use this finding to reduce the emotional exhaustion by decreasing the workload and work-family conflict.
